I assume you've all seen the new NVIDIA cards? bgr.com/2016/05/09/nvidia-gtx-1080-gtx-1070-price-release-date/

Nvidia says that the GTX 1080 is faster than the Titan X, three times as power efficient and twice as effective at rendering virtual reality content. Nvidia’s Titan X currently retails for $1,000. The GTX 1080 will cost $599 at launch.

Even the GTX 1070 is faster than the Titan X, but will cost $379.

I always liked the Nvidia cards. I was using the FX 5200 back when we were fragging with BF2. Been deciding on this for a while now & the GTX 1080 looks as if it will do the job for a number of years. My only confusion is : What the he-double hockey sticks is the difference between the 1080 & the 1080 Founders Edition? I watched a vid about that, but the guy only confused the issue more. I'm also concerned about making it fit, but thinking around corners does wonders...

The Founders Addition is just the reference card with a blower type fan and fancy cover. It is more expensive but runs at stock speeds compared to cards from EVGA, MSI, and others that will tweak the speeds. Really it is for people who simply cannot wait for or care for prices to come down a little and have to have the card on launch day. Unless you are running them in SLI and like the heat from the cards to be blow out through the back of your case, you are better waiting on the other cards to drop.

Thanks Bocephus,
I kind of thought that would be the case & you confirmed it. I'm not in any rush...

I'll for sure be getting a 1070 when I can afford it.
